A Derby couple are looking forward to splashing the cash at Westfield, after scooping £500 worth of vouchers at the official launch of the city’s new Castleward development.
Jonathan Scholey and Lea Lango-Scholey bagged the prize after visiting Compendium Living’s special launch event, which offered local people the first opportunity to see the new homes being built at Castleward.
The two, three and four-bedroom homes are already proving popular, with five homes reserved off-plan.
Jonathan, a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, and Lea, a Microbiologist, now plan to spend their vouchers on buying gifts and visiting Westfield’s new restaurants.
Jonathan comments: “We rarely enter prize draws, so winning was an unexpected and pleasant surprise; we now plan to buy presents for our families and to try the new restaurants at Westfield.
“We attended the Castleward launch because it was the first opportunity to view the properties that are being offered for sale in the early phases of the development.
“In addition to wanting to learn more about the area's development, we were also keen to see what style of residential property would be available for purchase.
“The layout of some parts of the development, specifically where the retail and residential properties meet, is interesting and we don't remember seeing anything else similar in Derby.
“We would like to thank the Castleward, Westfield and Showcase De Lux Cinema staff who made us feel very welcome during our visit for the prize giving ceremony.”
The first homes at Castleward are now available to reserve off-plan, with the first 10 reservations receiving an iPad upon completion.
Those wanting to find out more about life at Castleward can now take a virtual look inside the new homes thanks to the Castleward Mobile App, which is available to view at Bagshaws Residential Estate Agents, on Cornmarket, and can be downloaded from the App Store.
The homes are being built as part of a £100 million project to develop 30 acres of land between Derby Midland Station and the city centre, and will include new commercial premises, green spaces and an attractive tree-lined boulevard.
Lynn Korczak, Compendium Living Sales Adviser, comments: “We’re delighted with the positive response we have had to the development and to have five homes now reserved.
“It’s the modern house designs and convenient location that’s proving to be the real draw for home buyers, as we are offering the only opportunity to own a newly built home so close to the city centre.
“We have had a wide variety of home buyers showing an interest in Castleward, from young professionals who want to be close to Derby’s restaurants and nightlife to retired couples who want to live in a convenient location for the local shops.
“We’ve also had a number of visitors from outside of Derby who have heard about the Castleward and are looking to move back to the area, which shows we’re helping to put the city on the map.”
Homes are priced from £132,500.
